Our Story

How We Met

Like many modern love stories, ours started on Hinge — but with one important detail: we had already been mutually pre-approved by our friend Beth Odian. Honestly, having Beth give us both the green light probably saved everyone a lot of time.

From the very beginning, things felt easy.

Our first date was dinner at Bavette and a Dave Matthews Band concert… basically a six-hour first-date. The conversation felt less like meeting someone new and more like picking up in the middle of a conversation we’d already been having for years. It was comfortable, honest, effortless, and surprisingly deep for date number one.

A few days later, Ashton left for a family trip to Florida, and ended up talking on the phone for 3–4 hours every night. From there, we pretty much never stopped talking.

Jumping In

Neither of us really played it cool.

We fell into the relationship naturally and quickly — easy communication, trust, joy, support, and the kind of partnership that just made sense from the start.

One of the biggest things we bonded over early was music. Adam had a tradition with the kids where they each picked the “soundtrack” for the drive to school every morning, and before long Ashton and Nevaeh were participating too — sharing songs back and forth became part of our daily rhythm.

At one point, Ashton shared House of My Soul by Langhorne Slim with Adam and told him it reminded her of them.

That pretty much sealed it.

Since then, Langhorne Slim’s music has become woven into our story — road trips, concerts, kitchen dance parties, kids singing lyrics in the backseat, and now somehow… our actual wedding.

Honestly, it still feels surreal that we’ll get to share that part of our story with everyone we love on New Year’s Eve.

Building a Life Together

What makes us work is balance.

Adam is energy, ideas, movement, and “let’s do it.”
Ashton is calm, organized, optimistic, and the one who can turn all of those ideas into reality.

Together, we’ve built a relationship centered around being intentionally present with each other, with our kids, and with the life we’re creating together.

We love good food, live music, traveling, trying new things, and creating experiences that feel meaningful and memorable. More than anything, we push each other to grow — as partners, parents, and people.

At the end of the day, this relationship has always felt like being fully supported by your favorite person.

And now we get to throw a really fun party about it.
